Day School

Cost of private daycare included.

Drop your dog off in the morning, and he goes home with you that night, just a little wiser! An especially nice choice if your dog is already coming to The Animal Keeper  for Camp or Daycare.

Day School is available in packages of 10, 15 or 20 lessons. Fill out the Training Intake Interview Form, and schedule a meeting with the training staff, and we will individualize a program for you and your dog.

You will get periodic report cards about our dog’s progress, and you will meet with your trainer weekly (or as scheduled) for a Transfer of Skills session.

Board & Train

Combines Comfy Boarding and Training

Your dog stays with us for 20 days, enjoying the excellent care we are famous for, while your trainer, a professional level member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, works with him using modern, gentle and effective training methods.

The trainer will teach your dog all the basic skills: Loose leash walking, Sit and Down on word and signal, Sit-Stay, Down Stay, Come when Called, and Leave It, working with your dog in a variety of environments, to proof the behaviors against distraction.

When it is time for your dog to go home, you will meet with your trainer, so he or she can demonstrate the skills your dog has learned, and coach you as you take over the reins. You will also go home with a training handbook and DVD of the skills and tools necessary to maintain the training – courtesy of The Animal Keeper Academy.

Our Trainers

Justin Webster, CPDT-KA – Trainer Animal Keeper Poway

He became interested in dog training after coming to The Animal Keeper and becoming a camp counselor. He attended the Animal Keeper Academy, and with work and study, certified as a CPDT-KA via the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers.

In addition to being a skilled positive reinforcement trainer and problem solver, Justin is also a Camp Counselor. He finds that the two skills sets support and enhance one another.

Testimonials

Edgar Did An Amazing Job

I have to tell you that Edgar did an amazing job with Lily and I am very happy with her results. I believe that Edgar was able to give my little baby Lily freedom for the rest of her life that would have been very hard to provide to her without his loving coaching.

Thank you from our entire family.

Review 3/8/18 – 5 Stars

Our recent newly adopted dog, Mishka, needed to become more comfortable with other dogs. We took her for training with Justin and he did an excellent job with her. She really looked forward to her training sessions and play times in the yard. By the end of training, not only did she love Justin, but she became very comfortable with the other dogs during play time. Justin did a great job in training us in how to manage her while meeting other dogs. I highly recommend Justin and Animal Keeper.
